10 Tracks You Need To Download Now.

10. Hello Little Girl by Aaron Johnson —> Simple, intimate, cool and showcasing how there’s no end to Aaron Johnson’s talents. (Link)

9. Eskimo by Damien Rice —> A song demonstrating how vital and important friends are. How a friend has the ability to make everything better, even at times of great sorrow. Simply beautiful. (Link)

8. You Got Me (Feat. Erykah Badu) by The Roots —> It’s great to hear a song describing a relationship built on trust. How even though this relationship is challenged on a daily basis, that trust will always keep them together. You Got Me is by far one of the most beautiful songs by The Roots and further proves why they are so great. (Link)

7. Smoke Without Fire by Duffy —> One of the best example of a song dealing with heart-break. Her voice, the lyrics and the orchestration are utterly flawless and filled with emotional power. (Link)

6. Black Sheep by Metric —> This song is from the soundtrack of Scott Pilgrim vs. The World and it is one of the best songs Metric has ever done. What else could you ask for? (Link)

5. West Coast by Coconut Records —> Jason Schwartzman, enough said. (Link)

4. Djohariah by Sufjan Stevens —> Let’s face it, Sufjan Stevens is without a doubt one of the most skilled and unique musicians around. He creates well-constructed songs with a variety of instruments and techniques, while also dealing with different themes. In my opinion, his All The Delighted People EP is one of the most ambitious and musically rich collection of songs I’ve heard in a very long time. There aren’t many musicians who can whole my attention with a song that passes 17 minutes, but Sufjan Stevens does and he does exquisitely. Each one of his songs is a journey and I love the experience of just letting my mind wonder as one of his songs play. (Link)

3. Let The Drummer Kick by Citizen Cope —> Not many songs can summarize a lifetime in such a clever and mesmerizing manner. (Link)

2. Not About Love by Fiona Apple —> While some people argue that Extraordinary Machine is not her best album, I respectfully disagree. If there was any doubt of how brilliant and masterful this album is, you don’t have to look further than its opening song. Not Above Love has Fiona Apple’s powerful trademark vocals, thoughtful lyrics and a hypnotic orchestration that is both eerie and threatening. It is also a highly layered song that gets more interesting and intriguing the more you listen to it. Give it up to Fiona Apple to create one of the greatest songs in years. (Link)

1. Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie —> Transatlanticism is one of the most beautiful, melancholy, emotional and musically masterful songs I’ve ever heard in my whole life. If you asked me for an example of a truly timeless song, this song would be my answer. It is just beyond words. (Link)

Twilight Galaxy by Metric

This for me is one of Metric’s best songs, it’s low-key and feels very intimate. To me it kind of sounds like a lullaby as well.

Black Sheep by Metric (via jujubarnes)

This is my absolute favorite song in the Scott Pilgrim soundtrack, and my excitement when it was played during the film was HUGE. I literally just started singing it out loud and the people next to me just looked at me as if I had issues.
