Just finished Guilty Crown and I gotta say that I’m disappointed. The show started pretty cool and interesting even though the protagonist was the definition of annoying. I can’t say I’m a fan of the trend of having the protagonist be such a childish boy who constantly complains instead of taking action. Good thing the supporting characters were all great and in the end the main dude does grow some balls. At any case, the ending was pretty anticlimactic and the once the truth behind overall mystery is revealed… well it’s underwhelming. On the positive side, Guilty Crown has by far one of the best soundtracks of any anime I’ve seen.
They can’t hurt me. I’m not like the rest of you. There’s no one left I love.
Out of all the new anime shows I’ve started watching, Coppelion has surprisingly become my favourite thus far. It’s basically I Am Legend but in Tokyo, instead of Will Smith you have three high school girls, and the threat is radiation as opposed to vampires. The animation is stellar and distinctive, and the whole vibe of it is atmospheric, melancholic and still highly entertaining in a fun way. It’s minimalism and subtlety is refreshing, especially after the mindfuck awesomeness of Baccano (an anime I just finished and recommend to everyone everywhere now).
