Impressions of a Life Cinematic

The Dream by Jocelyn Pook.

The more I watch this film the more distinctive its soundtrack becomes. Jocelyn Pook was no stranger to Kubrick’s work, but I think she nailed the subtle tones of desperation, longing and quiet terror with her songs for Eyes Wide Shut. Just like the film, the score is an underrated beautiful work of art.

Nicole Kidman has never and will probably never look as beautiful and sexy as she did in this film.

Naval Officer by Jocelyn Pook.

I saw Eyes Wide Shut again last night and to be honest, the more I watch this film the more my love for it grows. I think it is a masterpiece and everything in it is just beautifully creepy and perfect. And like all great Kubrick films, the music is one of the main reason for that.
