What are the fetishes that informed your earlier films?
Nicolas Winding Refn:
Bronson was like, an opera. I don't know where the fetish comes from, I can't define that. Valhalla Rising was like a science fiction movie, you know. Drive is a fairy tale. The structure I took from the Grimms's fairy tale stories.

How so?
Nicolas Winding Refn:
Just really everything they'd write. They'd start very innocent and end very dark. Yet, innocence would always be protected and righteous would always prevail and the villains would always be punished really horrible.
